Me @ "Rose Rose I Love You"

Guess what....Last week Sunday, 10 November 2007, I had the opportunity to watch our local musical production called, "Rose Rose I Love You", directed by Low Ngai Yen. I have to tell you the truth that i was not entirely excited in the first place to go but was "forced" by my friend, Laura. Apparently, her vocal teacher(yes, i was surprise too that she took vocal lesson before!!) was the musical director for the show...and her name is Penny Low. Don't get me wrong i love musical/theaterical show like Phantom of the Opera (my all time favorites), Fame, Hairspray (the movie), Grease, Chicago and Moulin Rouge....and counting...but I always have this biasness towards local production. I guess i always thought they are not up to the international standard (shame on me, i know...)

Furthermore, the show was all the way up @ Genting International Showroom! I was feeling a bit lazy and almost wanted to call in sick...but then when i thought of the RM88 that i have paid, it suddenly became the main motivator for me to go through it. When we finally reach there, we had a short lunch (overprice and tasteless lunch i would say!!), and got ourselves sitted in the the theater. I was actually surprised that Genting didnt put much thought of beautifying the place since they are constantly having shows there. The chair was the normal cushion-steel chair (the one you can find in higher class mamak stall like "Pelita"), and the sound system is bad...and stage is kinda small if you are thinking of full fledge performance!!

Me @ the entrance of the Genting Showroom....

The friends who i went with to see the show....This was also taken before the show started!

This was the couple (Dennis & Laura) who "drag" me to the show in which i have no regret watching ......

Spotted Harith Iskandar who also attended the show...He came with a few local celebrity too in which they told me was Elaine Daly...What a difference btw on and off screen.

This was the seat i was talking about...Ok ok it was slightly better than "Pelita" but it is still bad and uncomfortable...They should make it like Las Vegas. Hey, Genting is loaded right, this little things count and definitely make the difference!

This was my "clowny" friends....all smile before the curtains was down....Oh, there were also people selling peanuts and drinks. Aaaah...but we were smarter than them, we brought our own RM 1.00 nuts and FOC home water...Hahahah

Had an opportunity to take some photos with the cast after the show...This was one of the "tai tai" in the show...very funny and witty character. In real person, she was also very nice.

This was the "stilletos". If you guys have watch the movie, "Babe", i would categorize as the 3 little singing mice on each scene.. All 3 of them had great voice

At first we were so "excited" taking photos with the "Carmen Soo". But it was a big turn off when she told us , "Be quick"! Hmmm..She really think she is some superstar cos in her profile , she wrote there saying she appear in some commercial with Aaron Kwok, Jacky Chan and Jacky Cheung....etc. However, one thing i have to admit, she is really pretty in real person. But personality is definitely a turn off!

This was Tin Tan...She is not exactly photogenic...I think it's because of the make-up...But she is really very cute and pretty in real person. And she have way better personality than Carmen Soo.

This was the man, Tony Eusoff who not only possess great voice (he sounded like Elvis Presley) but also good looks. He made my friend, Laura and Sue went "gaga" over him. They kept saying that, "Tony actually put his arms around my shoulders"!!

This was one of the cast , can't recall his name but was apparently Sue's high school mate....

This is the "Penny Low", who is Laura's vocal teacher and also the person behind doing the music arrangement. Good job !! Too bad that some of the cast could not bring on the vocal if not with her music arrangement, i think it could have been better....

This was the stage where all the magic happens....I've taken this photo right after the show...

Overall Verdict:
Environment: 2 out of 5 Roses

Performance: 3.5 out of 5 Roses (there was times when the cast was out of pitch)

Musical Arrangement: 4 out of 5 Roses (Very good music arrangement and lyrics)

Cast Members: 3 out 5 Roses (I only like KK Wong for his humor, Tony Eusoff cos he is handsome and great vocal & Zalina Lee for her great vocal. Carmen Soo and Tin Tan was abit pitchy on the voice!)

Vampy's Movie Review on "Stardust"

I have decided to write a review about this movie Stardust cos my friends thought it is a boring movie. I suspect that it is due to lack of advertisement that alot of people who have not seen this movie thought it's going to be another cheesy fairy-tale stories which is not worth their RM10....And let me tell you that it is worth every penny you paid for!! I have the same initial thought but it turned out to be the best ever told fairy-tale movie for 2007!

The casting is brilliant. I've never seen Charlie Cox prior to this movie, but he not only looks hot in this movie, but he nails the lead role. Can't think of anybody better than him to play this role. You can really see the character metaphor from a naive young village boy who is obsess over Victoria (Sienna Miller) to a strong heroic man.... And boy check out when he has long hair. He won my heart over....

The plot will definitely leaves you wanting more (in a good way...ahem..), transporting you to a magical fantasy world! The pacing of this movie is excellent, never lagged and always keep you on toes with excitement. Overall, i was highly impressed by "Stardust" and would gladly see it again...

Let this movie put a smile back in your face, stars in your eyes and twinkle in your ears....

My final verdict of this movie:

4.5 Falling Stars (out of 5)

Re-watch value: EXTREMELY HIGH

Me@ Terry Fox Run 2007

It is now 1.15pm,7th November and am sitting down at Starbucks enjoying my cup of Latte while waiting for my customer. Thought of popping in to my blogspot to do more updates of what i did last weekend. My friends had been screaming at me why i haven't been posting their photos of the Terry Fox event. So, decided to do it now so they can all be in my blog. Hahahaha....

Yup, last week Sunday(4th November 2007) was the Terry Fox run at Lake Garden. Decided to do some charity for this cancer fund foundation since a lot of good things have come to me this year. Time to contribute back, don't you think so? I was waiting for this run for the past one week and finally when Sunday comes....i could not wake up! We were suppose to gather at the Lake Garden @8.45am. I woke up at 8.00am and was hungry. I even had time to do a nice oatmeal with raisins & almonds for myself. So that wasted me another 20 min. So by the time i reached Lake Garden, it was 8.45AM. The place was jam packed with cars and mountain of people!! When i reached to the registration site, t-shirt that i booked earlier was sold off cos i came late. Bummer....Luckily, they got one last piece which is XXS. It just fits perfectly....

However, I was also waiting for another couple friends to come and they were late as well! So by the time they reached, it was already 9.30am. By that time, everyone already finished their run and start drinking the free Milo, eating muffins, and bananas! Hmmmm.....

nov event 103
Look at the number of people walking towards the starting line....

nov event 102
This was car park way up to "Tugu Negara"...We had to park our car here to and walk all the way down for about 15-20 minutes....That's our warm up too

nov event 105
This was car park way up to "Tugu Negara"...We had to park our car here to and walk all the way down for about 15-20 minutes....That's our warm up too

nov event 112
The muffins were given out FREE to participants....I thought i had to purchase to do the charity but in fact they were like 5-6 boxes free muffins. It was really yummy and to the company/person who gave this out was really kind

nov event 116
Me munching on 2 muffins....Nah too high of a calorie. It was just for photoshoot purposes....One more muffin was reserved for my late "couple" friends.

nov event 110
Free mineral waters as well...And not to mention bananas. It is essential after the run/before the run....

nov event 113
Look at the mountain of eaten bananas....

nov event 118
This was the faces of people who finished their run. If you look behind, there was a long "Q" at the Milo truck....This was the most popular of the day....

nov event 122
My high school friends from SMKB who i met @ the event. Me the "dry" cos never did the run and they the "wet" one who finished the run....

nov event 120
This was another of their "KODAK" smile pose....with half eaten muffin .....

Terry Fox022
Group pose.......Hey look at the girls not the boys.....Statistic shown that they are more beautiful girls in Malaysia then handsome guys....This photos just confirm the report! No offense guys...Ahem...

Terry Fox022
The guy in the middle holding the half eaten muffin was actually my stardard 1 school mate. I don't recall his face but he could recognize me. He left our school after standard 2! What good memory he has...I bet he is top student....

Terry Fox023
This was the late couple who made me miss the run.....Hmmmmm and they are eating happily with muffins?

nov event 133
Our last cup of Milo of the day......

My overall verdict of the event:
Very well organize and lotsa food....I give it a 8 out 10 "Terry run"

Me@ Mercedez "C" Class Launch Event 2007

DSCN0944Wow, can you believe it that after my shopping spree, I had to rushed to another event. It was my bf's invitation to go for this new Mercedez "C" class launch event @ APAC, old Subang airport! So, it does justify the evening wear dress that i bought during my "spree" right? I was rushing like mad cos the event was suppose to start at 8pm in which, we should be leaving around 7PM. I got back around 6pm. Had to do a quick shower, hair-do and make-up in less than an hour!! Where's the justice?? On top of that, i was cheated by "him" that there will be a sit down dinner. So, at the back of my mine, it should be those 8 course dinner, with some shows going on while they do a launch of the car. Alas, it turns out to be a cocktail dinner in which they serve finger food like, satay (have to admit it's kinda tasty but lotsa MSG), fried onion rings, dim sum ("siu mai"), fried wanton, fried shrimp and etc. The only part that i enjoyed was the dessert and fruits. They were clever enough to have the "C" wording printed on the chocolates. They also served my favorite dessert "cheesecake" in a spoon! YUmmy.....

nov event 060
This was how they transform the old cargo area into a nice and cozy event place....The lighting and decor was great. There were a 4 pc band playing at the background(b4 the DJ end the night of course). There were free flow of beers and wine...People are basically chilling and socializing over there...

nov event 061
The rich and famous (i think.....) mingling around as the waiter was going around serving those finger food(AKA the food that still leaves you hungry no matter how many serving you have!!)

nov event 067
This was my new evening dress that i bought from Tulipe that cost me RM150. Isn't it nice. So, it does justify my spending right? HAhahaha...I love it alot cos the dress flows down all the way to the floor and looks like the dress from Lord of the RIng, the one wore by Liv Tyler....

nov event 059
This is the new C-Class model....it looks very chick and modern...not like the E-class (which i classify as "uncle"s car...No offense to Mercedez lover)

nov event 088
Kiran doing a test drive/rather a "test seat" on the inside...I would say that overall it's really slick and comfy. Everything is a push button. Even the seat is a just a push of a button. And when you close off the door, you can't hear the noisiness of the outside. The seat was all leather...Really comfortable i would say. Hey for those guys who wants to go after a girl...use this car, I'm sure they'll be having very good 1st impression. Then the next stage no guarantee!

nov event 099
Me with Serina posing at the very first model of Mercedez C & E class.

nov event 098
Me & Serina at their posing @ the entrance.....

nov event 070
Smile...you are on candid camera....hahaha...

nov event 077
Me & Serina enjoying our fruits....finally something not so oily!!

nov event 097
Serina posing @ Lamer's booth. Yes there were other big shots company there like Hilton hotel (i suspect the food is from there), Lamer & Citigold.

nov event 094
The guys having drink at the Lamer's booth....nice setting huh?

nov event 066
The models posing the watches...Poor things, they had to stand there like this for the whole night! Can you believe it? I wouldn't want to be in their place...unless they pay me like RM800-Rm1000 a day. The male model in actual fact was more good looking than in the photo...believe me!! Don't understand why he didnt turn out good in photos. That's the reason, me and Serina went over to take photos with them!

nov event 086
The DJ of the night playing some funky tunes. Isn't he cute...I was told he is some famous *tv presenter and used to be a DJ in zouk....Anyone finds him familiar please let me know....

The Overall Verdict of the Event (Out of 5 thumbs up!!):
Environment: 4 thumbs (very cozy and nice environment)
Food: 3 thumbs (minus of the points cos i still went back hungry!!)
Drinks: 4 thumb (Keep the liquor pouring....)
Staff:4 thumbs
Music: 4 thumbs (very nicely organize with the bands and DJ...Not a boring moment!)

Me@ Shopping Spree.....Hartamas

After the Big Big Bowl experience, me and sam went on shopping spree @ Sri Hartamas. Let me tell you that this women can really shop. She knows all the corner high and low on where to get cheap and nice clothing. First stop was "Tanzz". Bought 2 pants for Rm80.00. One for work and one for play! It was on sale 70%!! So basically the same kind of longs pants in which if i get from G2000 will cost me around RM100 ++. Then, the next stop was "F-Block".Got myself a very nice working blouse and skirt. In fact got a compliment today when i went to my customer's place. Hahaha...Last stop was Tulipe Collection (Tel:2300 0835). This i have to recommend to those girls who wants to get quality and affordable dinner gown! The lady boss is "hot" and have good sense in clothing.

DSCN0933
This was the 2 pants, from "Tanzz" that i bought for the total of Rm80.00

DSCN0928
This knee length skirt from "F-Block" cost me another RM 60.00.

DSCN0927
This blouse from "F-Block" that cost me around RM 35.00

DSCN0948
This was my end results.....Oh isn't shopping therapeutic?

So conclusion of total money spent of the day:
Tanzz: RM 80.00-2 pants
F-Block: RM 95.00 (Rm60+RM35.00)-blouse & skirt
Tulipe: RM 300 (RM 150 x 2 pcs)-2 evening wear in which i wore it to Mercedez launch & 1 more will be collected end of the month.

So total $ spent for the month of November: RM 475.00 for 6 pcs of clothing....not bad huh?
